today my day sounded like …

I wanted to share with you what my day sounded like
sometimes we don’t need pictures just words to share our day

my day started with the sound of a choking 3 year old girl

  • followed by sniffling to the point of gagging
  • the subtle crying slowly begins
  • I sit up from my end of the couch
  • pat her on the back
  • tuck her hair behind her ears
  • before kissing her on the forehead

not 5 minutes later I hear the sound of my alarm
buzzing so loud it sounded like a train driving thru my house

it’s 6 am

the sound of our morning hustle and bustle soon fills my ears

  • fruit loops pouring into cereal bowls
  • the shower running
  • steam escaping from my tea kettle
  • dresser drawers opening and shutting
  • coats zipping up
  • little feet heading out the door

the sounds of grateful women soon surround me
women thankful for a safe loving environment for the little’s to play in while we enjoyed mom time over brunch
an amazing mentor mom moment full of great meal planning ideas take over my thoughts

  • recipes are shared
  • storage ideas discussed
  • ways to save money are planned

as we head home the sound of the wind makes it hard to hear the radio
roaring so loud as we pick up speed
after a few minutes of driving the sound of 2 snoring three-year-olds echo in our minivan
it almost sounded like a symphony of whistles and grunts, and growls!

later the sound i have been waiting for
silence
I am in the living room
3 kids are sleeping
one is in time out (in her room)
and I sit alone gathering my thoughts trying to remember what the day sounded like

what did your day sound like, what noises do you remember?
until next time I’ll be listening
