take me from Selfish to Selfless…

I had an amazing weekend. A dear friend that went on my mission trip drove 12 hours Friday to MI. Can you believe that; 12 hours from Iowa to Michigan. We had a great weekend visiting and attended a missions rally Saturday night. She had a sleep over in Hailey’s room and was able to attend church with us. She left right after service for her long drive home. Stephanie was exactly what I needed. I needed a recharge in my faith. I needed someone to walk right next to me encouraging me to continue on a path that the Lord has lain out in front of me. Steph is such an amazing prayer warrior. I love the energy that she gives off. I can not wait until this summer so that we can hang out again!

One thing the two of us chatted about was being like Christ. I want my life to be a life of living like Christ. I don’t want people to ever have to ask if I am a Christian. I want people to see me and say, Wow, She is a Christian. I want my life to be lived like Christ. I know I have a long ways to go and have a lot of changes to make but I will continue to work on this everyday.

I am again on fire for the mission field again and hope to be able to go on another mission trip January 2011. Steph may try and head up a team for us. We would be going to back to the same village I worked in to finish building homes. I would just love to go back and see how the families have changed and adjusted to their new homes. I would love to encourage them to continue to be strong in their faith no matter the obstacles that come their way.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you so much for all the good things You have done for me! Help me always to have a thankful and grateful heart, even when I do not see an immediate answer to my prayers. I know You will never leave me nor forsake me. Lord, give me a servant’s heart so that I might always be willing to serve others. Lord, also help me to be humble enough to ask for help when I need it. Lord, may all of Your children have generous and giving hearts so that we might change the world for the better. Thank you for Your daily provision and use me to provide for others. Even if I do not have money to give to all that I would like to give to, I know that I can always give my prayers for them. I can always speak an encouraging word to those around me. Help me to give of the things that I do possess. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
