#spookyspaces along came a spider

This post is a post is sponsored by Joann Fabrics. I was given free materials in exchange for writing a DIY tutorial. all opinions are true and 100% mine

when Joanns asked me to be a part of a holiday campaign series i was giddy with excitement. I finally have a home i can decorate for each holiday. Our October theme was a secret until the letter arrived in the mail. When i found out we were to create #spookyspaces I knew i had this one in the bag. i may or may not have been planning how i was going to make our living room spooky for a few months.

spider sack supplies

supplies needed:

poly fill stuffing
rocks/marbles or heavy smooth object
fake spiders
white tights or nylons
glue gun/sticks

see the above diagram for where to cut the tights.

place the rocks in the small foot part, wrap with poly fill

place poly fill wrapped rocks into nylon,

to give it a more realistic spider sack look i used my hand and stuffed plastic spiders in the nylon

using your glue gun attach a few spiders on the outside of the sack. make sure to place a large concentration on the bottom of the sack!

i hung our spooky spider sack in our bay window. to help create a spooky atmosphere we used Martha Stewart’s spider and mice silhouettes.

I would love to see how you created a spooky place in your home. Use this 50% off coupon at Joann’s to get more bang for your buck!
