Spice cake cupcake

spice cake cupcake

at the end of this post i have a recipe for these delicious cupcakes
i’ve decided its time to start working on my photography skills

hold up, i am NOT trying to be a professional photographer
or even a good photographer
just need to clean things up a little, okay a lot!

spice cake cupcakes

since receiving my iPad, my camera has been severely neglected.
i have only used it to take a handful of pictures in the last month
and most of those pictures were for my wiww posts.

spice cake

I know this kind of contradicts my previous posts about using my words.
I want to apologize if that’s how it may sound.

semi homemade spice cakes

the more i thought about it. i felt that pictures can amplify the words i share.
i am not talking about labeled Pinterest ready pictures.
i am talking about everyday life pictures.

I could tell you tell you my cupcakes were baked perfectly.
that they are so light and fluffy, after omitting the oil and using yogurt instead.
you may be curious as to what that looks like
or i could show you the picture of the inside of the cupcake
filled with air holes and the perfect caramel color
it will heighten your senses.

spice cake

and yes, it’s perfectly moist
bursting with the right mount of spice, thank you Betty!

I could tell you that the cream cheese frosting fluffed up just enough after adding the powdered sugar.
using the Ziploc bag piping method
made the frosting look like little clouds
or i could show you

cream cheese cinnamon frosting

I could tell you that the speckled cinnamon in the frosting
reminded me of baby bird eggs
or i could show you
cinnamon cream chesse frosting

I am just beginning this photography adventure
and i would appreciate any/all tips you are willing to share.

  • i use a point and shoot camera
  • i do not have lots of windows for lighting
  • i have fluorescent lighting in my kitchen
