Simplicity comes from inside us. When we have become inwardly simple then we can face the world with peace. This year for fall i wanted to focus on being simple. Simple in my dress, my schedule, and even in my decorating. Its not wrong to decorate elaborately but for me it was a heart thing.
Romans 12:2-5 (NCV)
Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. Because God has given me a special gift, I have something to say to everyone among you. Do not think you are better than you are. You must decide what you really are by the amount of faith God has given you. Each one of us has a body with many parts, and these parts all have different uses. In the same way, we are many, but in Christ we are all one body. Each one is a part of that body, and each part belongs to all the other parts.
I need to stop trying to put my identity in how people view my life, my appearance, my home. My identity is in Christ. not my performance.
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NLT)
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
my purpose for sharing this with you is to encourage you to live life the way God has planned for you. Not what better homes and Garden says. (i love bhg magazine, it’;s just not my bible)
