simple necklace tutorial…

simple necklace tutorial

I have been working hard on items for my Etsy shop and thought I would share with you one of the simpler necklaces.

simple necklace tutorial..
*disclaimer*this tutorial was a last minute thought so the pictures are not great sorry!

Supplies needed:
tulle
beads
scissors
matching thread
needle
sewing machine

First you are going to want to cut a 1 1/2 inch strip of tulle.
the length should be how long you want your necklace plus about 4 inches.

Fold the strip in half and machine stitch (or hand stitch) into a tube.
This is what it will look like…

using a safety pin or turning tool, flip the tube right side out. If you need help with this step here is a GREAT tutorial from Ashley at Make it and Love it.

Next you need to take a bead in slip it into your tube.

Push the bead down to the center of your tube

Once it is in the desired spot tie a knot on either side of the bead to keep it in place.

Continue with the remainder of beads you plan on using. remember to tie a knot before and after each bead to prevent it from moving around. You can space them evenly or at differing widths.

You can also add a tulle fluff flower to give it a little something more.
I used this tutorial to make my puff.

and the finished necklace looks like this:
