Simple Anthro Knock off

A few weeks ago I shared a tutorial over at

of course I am going to let my readers have a go at it too…

I want to share with you a Anthropologie knock off I made.
Here is the one from Anthro
Here is my version…slightly different but same concept.
Let’s get this knock off started!
Supplies:
  • Felt { 2 -3 colors }
  • Beads
  • Chain
  • Jump rings/clasp { optional }
  • Glue gun
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors
First you need to decide what your pattern will be.
I chose to use two mustard yellow and one brown.
I used the spool of thread as my template. I cut strips of felt, then cut it into squares slightly larger than the spool of thread.
I then cut around the thread to make a perfect circle out of the felt.
You will need 6-7 circles per fan ball.
After all your circles are cut out it’s time make your fan balls.
Place a thin line of hot glue along the center of the circle.

fold the circle in half
place a thin line of glue along the folded edge
glue the folded circle into the center of one of the other circles.
now repeat with the remaining circles. I used 5 folded circles per fan ball.
At this point your ball looks a little wonky…
using your scissors trip your fan to be a little more round and even in length.
Once all your fan balls are complete
it’s time to assemble your necklace.
Glue the center fan ball into the center of a scrap of felt.
Now glue the ends of your chain to the scrap felt corners
using your remaining balls add glue to the backs and place on top of chains
you could stop and trim the access felt away and be done here.
I chose to add a few beads.
Using a needle and thread sew your beads between two of the fan balls
repeat with other side
I made my chain long enough so I would not have to add a clasp. but you can if you would like!
Trim away access felt and you are finished.
