Potty Training Goodnites Bed MAts

Potty training can be stressful for many reasons
accidents on the floor, bathroom emergencies in the car, or the fear of going number 2
the one that really gets me is pee . on . the . mattress .
i hate it during nap time but especially in the wee hours of the mourning
when i can barley pry my eyes open
and yes i have been the mom who just throws a towel over it and says go back to bed!
judge if you must

I have been babysiting two little girls the same age as Lennie
all three girls use the potty without any accidents during the day

nap time is another story

one of the girls is a very hard sleeper
we have tried the no drinks after lunch and to go potty before you lay down
but about once a week we were having accidents on Lennie’s mattress
*vinegar/water mix takes the pee smell out*

to prevent her mattress from getting completely ruined we purchased Goodnites Bed Mats at target
using this $1.50 off coupon holla!

GoodNItes Bed MAts

that’s only $0.89 per mat people
having a clean mattress after an accident=PRICELESS

I loved how large the mats were, each mat is 7.5 square feet
on the back there are adhesive strips to keep it from shifting around
these little girls sure wiggle a lot in their sleep, so i was fired up for this part

Goodnites adhesive back

the girls loved how soft the mats feel.
i think they actually prefer to sleep on the mats over the actual sheets

soft goodnites bed mat

it’s the best feeling knowing that we are saving our poor mattress
from future nap time drownings
and for that i am sure the mattress would hug me if it could

naptime goodnites bed mats

I have already given one of the moms i babysit for a pack of these
and think we will buy another for when the flu hits again
pee is bad enough on a mattress but vomit is another story, for realz!

  1. I could have used these for my older kids. I am going to start pottytraining the youngest soon so thanks for the tip!

  2. I don’t remember them having these when we potty trained our daughter. I’m sure they did because it was only a few years ago so it hasn’t been all that long. These are neat though. I like the idea better than using pullups. Pullups didn’t work for us because she treated them like a diaper basically. With these you can still use regular undies and still not have to wash sheets every time the inevitable accident happens while you are trying to get them trained.

  3. We absolutely LOVE using these bed mats. They’ve been such a lifesaver, especially when Alea went through a little phase where she was wetting the bed again. These seemed to not only bring her confidence back, but also help break her from that habit. I’m so happy to hear that you love them as well!
