my new obessions… { pinterest and tumblr }

There are so many social media avenues out there these days
I never know what to use
what is boring
what is cool today and not tomorrow.

I did learn that once you turn 18 myspace is not for you.
Join the big kid world and get a facebook!

Check { find me here }

Get a twitter account and tweet your heart out.
Check { Find me here }
I have had an account for a long time
I have only really started using it daily

this is where it gets compicated.
you can also join
digg, stumbleupon,  Del.icio.us, tumblr and pinterest

to be honest I am not even sure what all of them are.

I have however joined pinterest and tumblr.

I know very little about each of them and I am sure
there are sweet features I am missing out on.
but here is what I do know:

You have to “ask” to get in or be invited.

(from there website)
What is Pinterest?
Think of Pinterest as a virtual pin board — a place where you can create collections of things you love and “follow” collections created by people with great taste.
People use Pinterest to collect and share all sorts of things — wedding inspiration, favorite T-shirts, DJ equipment. You name it, people are pinning it.
We know you have great taste in something. Our mission is to make Pinterest the best place for you to share your taste with the world.

Once you join you add this little bookmark button on your toolbar and whenever you see something you like you click on the pin it button and add it to your board of choice.
I love that you can make as many “boards” as you want.
some of my boards include kids clothes DIY, my style, home decor DIY, simplify the home decor, to make
this is a preview of my boards:

I recommend you try it out.
If you would like to be invited send me your email

I have had a tumblr account for a while and it is under my blog name.
I have it linked to my facebook account.
I use this mainly for showing blog posts and pictures to my facebook fans.
It’s similar to pinterest in that you have a little button on your toolbar
that you click on when you want to share something on facebook.

(from tumblrs website)
Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors, to your theme’s HTML.

it also shows all your recent blogs post similar to twitter.
I am not sure what else you can do with this but I like being able to share
pictures and websites easliy to friends on facebook without
actually logging into facebook.

SO have I helped you or made you more confused?
if you have either of these accounts let me know and lets connect.
