my 5 must have WordPress plugins…

5 must have WordPress plugins..

I have officially been a WordPress.org user since 10/12
and fan since 2/13

the things i missed most about blogger
are starting to all dwindle as i have found great replacements

i wanted to share what i feel are my top 5 must have WordPress plugins.
now there are some important ones i wont mention here
but as for the purpose of making my life easier with WP
the following are my must haves..

1. Akismet (GOODBYE TO COMMENT SPAM)

  • i wish this one was not needed but it is.
  • there are so many spammers out there now that our inbox’s fill with “fake” comments
  • this plugin does an amazing job at filtering it all out.
  • it can be a little tricky to get set up (at least it was for me), finding my API key almost killed me.
  • if you create/or already have a wordpress.COM account you can easily find your API key by going to the following website https://apikey.wordpress.com/

2.Bottom of every post (ADD CONTENT TO THE BOTTOM OF EVERY POST)

  • i was struggling with how to add my signature automatically to the end of each post
  • it was taking too long to add the code manually each . and . every . time .
  • this plugin it does it for you. you can add ANYTHING you want here not just a signature

3.Pinterest Pin It Button For Images (ALLOW READERS TO PIN IMAGES EASILY)

  • i wanted to make it easier for you to pin content you wanted to save
  • i did not want to clutter the page with extra buttons and loved the idea of a hidden button
  • easy to install and can be customized.
  • The description goes automatically as the name of the post, and so does the link of the post.

4. Editorial Calendar (YOU CAN EASILY DRAG AND DROP POSTS ONTO THE CORRECT DATE)

  • i learned about the plugin at influence
  • i love that you can effortlessly move posts to another date by dragging and dropping
  • you can also create draft posts and add them to your calendar, this helps with monthly planning.
  • editorial calendar gives you an overview of your blog and when each post will be published.
  • you can even edit posts right in the calendar

5. Ultimate TinyMCE (ADVANCED TEXT EDITOR)

  • Easily manipulate your fonts, font sizes, colors, styles, and css from a graphical user interface.
  • no “HTML” and “CSS” needed to edit the look of your font
  • Insert YouTube videos by simply copying and pasting the share url.
  • Graphical Image Mapping to make your images more exciting.
  • this plugin was ultimately my life saver. editing my posts before this was pure torture.

what are your favorite plugins for WordPress? I am always looking for ways to make WordPress easier.

i think i found the answers to most of my blogger loses.
