Jesus promises …

words from my personal journal

Romans 8:6 Jesus Promises
via

on a very cold and gray tuesday afternoon
i felt the need to seek the word for promiese Jesus left for us
i was sitting in my van
praying for Jesus to meet me
to sit with me as i started my devotion for the day
i closed my eyes, held my hands out palms up
and waited
i waited to feel his presence
to feel the warmth of his light shinning on me
and i did, i did in a very tangible way
and then i felt even closer to him as i opened my Jesus calling devotional book
he knew i was going to seek him this day
and it was affirmed when i read the words on the page
i wanted to share with you my journal from that day…

Jesus promises us that if we SEEK HIS FACE
we will not only find His presence but also His peace
in order to gain his peace we must be open and trust Him
we need to give up the control of our lives we hold so tightly to
the control we grasp onto with all we have

“the only thing we can grasp onto without damaging is His soul is His hand”

Romans 8:6 (NLT)
“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

we will always have things to worry about but we can always TRUST GOD.
we have such an amazing promise to hold onto in Psalm 46:1-2
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea”

He is the GREAT I AM

Do you see, he wanted me to seek His face and then we would be there
and he was
i pray for you and i, that we would always seek Him.

  1. I love this. Have you read The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson? It’s all about circling God’s promises in the Bible and claiming them. It’s a great read!
