Instagram friday #8 -coffee date

instagram friday coffee date

This week I thought I would try something new. I am having an instagram Friday coffee date. It’s a marriage between my instagram Friday and my old series Friday coffee date.

Let’s start by praying over our time together.
“Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for this opportunity to be together. To share our worlds, our thoughts, our hearts, and our love for you. Lord please be with us as we talk about our past week, our current revelations, and our struggles. I ask that you soften the hearts of those who do not know you personally. That they would see how wonderful you are Lord. I also ask that you keep the fire lit in those of us who have chosen to make you Lord of our lives. May that light be so bright that everyone can see it. We thank you for the gifts of grace and mercy. I can not imagine where I would be without them. Thank you for choosing to die on the cross so that I could have eternal life with you. In your precious name we pray, Amen.”

I am so glad you came for our coffee date today. I hope you are enjoying a warm drink of heaven. I stopped at Starbucks this morning after bringing the kids to school and ordered a peppermint hot chocolate with coconut milk but when I got home I realized I received a peppermint mocha. Since God has so NO COFFEE, I guess I’ll have to save this drink for the hubby. Time to make some hot cocoa at home. Don’t worry it will be just as good. I have white chocolate peppermint bark creamer to add to it! Yum.

Last Friday the hubby and I tried to finish up our Christmas shopping. For the record I need you to know I was dressed first. He chose his outfit after I was ready to go. And yes we did match the entire day. Not cool!

On Saturday I was able to have some alone time at Biggby and work on my blog posts and my newsletter. It was nice just listening to music and plugging away at work. That night we attended a D-league basketball game with some friends. I enjoyed the most delicious piece of frozen cheesecake dipped in chocolate with sprinkles! The conversations, laughs, and food were just what this soul needed.

Sunday was another great day. We started our day with a great church service, then visited some friends for lunch. These friends (not the ladies pictured above although they are a major support system for me as well) have been a huge part of our spiritual journey and we are thankful that the Lord has blessed us with this friendship for so many years. I am always encouraged and my bucket is full when we leave our time together! Sunday night ended with our church Christmas party. We had a lot of fun there as well. Ignore the blurriness of the selfies, it was dark and late and I was not paying attention!

On Tuesday we decorated Christmas cookies and played some fun games at our last youth group bible study of 2015. I think the girls have grown so much and I am blessed to walk along side them as they learn to navigate life in this new stage of crazy they are in. We honestly have such a great group of students. I am so proud of all of them.

EEEKKK I can not wait to show what is inside this beautiful package that I received from Leo and Lovey. You are going to fall in love with her shop. I promise.

Last but not least I found these really cool candies at Meijer this week. I am not sure where they are in the store as I found them in the clothing department. Someone must have set them there. But they are called Jesus promise seeds. The candy is like a candy corn but Christmas colors. On the package is a bible verse. Each verse is a promise that God has for us. I have them in a bowl on coffee table and I encourage the kids to hand them out to friends at school or someone who stops over. We can all use reminders of the promises of God.

Okay so now that I talked your ear off it’s your turn. What did you do this week?
