how to make more room in a narrow space…

time to tackle this narrow space called my living room.

I can not wait to show my latest to do project…
If it turns out as planned it shall knock your socks off…

I am going to make a narrow shutter top tv console table..
a what you ask…

here is a collage showing you what each layer may look like…

For the top I plan on using some old shutters I found on the side of the road..
I found a few ideas via Pinterest…

I want to add a shelf below the shutter to place our DVD player and wii…
i found these ideas on pinterest..I may use another one of the old shutters for this shelf.

and for the bottom shelf (using another of the old shutters)
I want to made little divided cubbies that I can put baskets in.
I need a place to hide the Wii games, movies and controllers.

I can not wait to begin working on this project.
I already priced it out at lowes.com and found all the harware need for cheap..
total project should cost no more than $30.00 (including paint)

some of you are wondering why I want to get rid of my current TV console..
I do like it.
It’s simple, clean and modern
I am trying to move away form modern and go more rustic chic.

also my living room is really narrow and any extra inches I get helps..
Here is the current set up…

okay how narrow is this space…
let me show you…

ah ha ha…okay stop laughing..
I may or may not have been shaking from doing this half plank…

Our current TV console is 20 inches deep
the new shutter console will only be 15 in deep…

You can check out all the ideas i pinned for my narrow tv console table
