holy week lent #35

holy week 2014 lenten series

Yesterday started off holy week. A week that starts On Palm Sunday and ends in full celebration Easter Sunday.

Holy week is a time for Christians to reflect on Jesus’ journey to the Cross. His journey begins with his entry into Jerusalem and concluding with his walk from the Upper Room through Gethsemane and ultimately to Calvary and the empty tomb.

Let’s take time each day this week and focus on God’s word as we go through this week, remembering all Jesus had to endure and how victorious he overcame it all.

Read Matthew 17:12
“But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”

Read Matthew 20:18-19
“We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”
