Girls room makeover

Since moving into our new home I have only completed one space. I am so proud of this girls room makeover that I had to share it with you right away.

When I say completed I still have 2 more things to purchase but whose really counting??

Let’s start with the before:

girls room before makeover

So not really girly! But it has great bones: a large closet and nice window.
Our very dear friend painted the room a light gray and the trim a basic gloss white.

I don’t have a wide angle lens to capture the whole room at once so bare with me.

pink and coral bedroom makeover

Let’s break things a little.
Her bed we already owned. It’s a actually a bunk bed. Her older sister is using the other bunk until she gets a new bed. We purchased the bunk beds about 8 years ago from Walmart.

The coral bedding I bought off a sale sight. It’s pottery barn kids. you can find a similar bedding here.

Her sheets are from target. The different colors allow us so many options for accents! We found another great sheet set we might purchase as backup.

I found a cool inspiration for her bookcase from The Pleated Poppy’s blog.

A few years ago I added the cute fabric to the back of the bookcase and thought it looked great. Now I am kicking myself for not painting it sooner. Oh well it looks perfect now in my girls room.

The cute coral knob we bought at hobby lobby we also found similar ones on amazon as well.

And because every little girls room needs more sparkle, we picked out the cutest faux diamond fan pulls at homedepot. (similar ones here)

The star of the show is her dresser. To say I am happy with it is an understatement. I am thinking of selling tickets to show it off. No really I love how it turned out.

ombre coral and white dresser

You can see the before of the dresser on instagram and here is a link to the blog I found my inspiration from.

pinterest dresser vs my dresser

The white on the dresser is Fundamental white in eggshell sheen.
I used this to paint 3 coats of the dresser frame and two coats on the drawers.
For the Coral part I bought a sample of Lei Flower in eggshell.
I used leftover white from the frame of the dresser and added small amounts of coral to it.
with each drawer I added more coral.
(both paints are HGTV HOME via Sherwin Williams at Lowe’s)

We just need to purchase curtains and frame for a poster her uncles purchased for her in California!
