Rude I know what what ev!

Let’s Pray..

Lord, thank you for bringing us here today. Thank you for allowing us this time to spend together. Father we are so thankful for the nice weather you have provided here for us today. Lord give us the tools needed to complete the task you have for us each day. Help us to listen to your voice and follow the path you have directed us on. Father please bless my friend as they go about their day, allow them to see some amazing God sightings. Bless this time we have together, allow our words to Glorify you. In Jesus Christ’s name… Amen.

So I am reading this amazing book right now that I have to share with you.

If you have not heard of it I suggest you go check it out now
I will wait for you as long as you promise to come back…

Okay glad you are back.
If you did not go check out the website here is a brief description of the book.

Have you ever wondered if we’re missing it? It’s crazy if you think about it. The God of the universe — the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and e-minor — loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss.

Whether you’ve verbalized it yet or not . . . we all know somethings wrong.

Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of Doy’s and don’ts — it’s falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same.

Because when you’re wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.

Does that make you want to read it. I sure hope so.
This book has been so challenging to me.
Even from the first chapter I was faced to recognize the the greatness of God’s creations.
Just yesterday I was at the zoo with my kids and was in awe of the detail he put into a peacock.
I mean all those feathers so beautifully designed.
How could you not be thankful.

Another chapter that really got was one about a lukewarm Christian.
What does that mean? who does that describe?
It’s someone who plays the part, does what is right, tries not to sin, helps others, donates, gives money, ect.
But there heart is not in it. They know what to do so they do it.
There heart is not in the right place.
The are not producing fruit, but seek affirmation and acceptance.
Making sure there to do list is checked off.

  • Bible reading done..check
  • church 2 times this week… check

The truth is a there is no such thing as a lukewarm christian.

Revelation 3:15-19

New Living Translation (NLT)
15 “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! 16 But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! 17 You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. 18 So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. 19 I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

Let me repeat there is no such thing as a lukewarm Christian.
You are either hot or Cold.
A real Christian looks like this..
you are seeking to be in the word because you long for it, you NEED it.
You go to church because to are hungry to better understand the word, because God says community is needed and you want to seek his ways.
You Tithe because the money is not yours but God’s and we should be giving it back to him.
You donate money because again it’s not yours. you donate by how much extra you have but by what is needed. You would rather give all you have and rely on God then to donate some and feel content.
You share the Gospel with those around you.
When people see you they know there is something different about you.
They long to have that something in your life that makes your spirit glow.

So where are you? are you Hot or Cold?
Do you need to talk with someone about this? I would be happy to talk to you.
Have you read this book?

Sorry I talked so much today friend.
I just felt really convicted to share about this book and the things I am learning.

How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
