frame wall updated…

I wanted to share with you a little update to my frame wall…
it has been a while since I worked on it.
I tried using my Cricut to cut out my paper butterflies but it did not work.
I think my blade was dull.
So I packed it all away and forgot about it.

Until today…
Those little book pages kept staring at me…
saying “please turn me into a butterfly”
Okay enough already, you may get wings.
Umm awkward yes, i know.
I did not really talk to my paper.
Here is the frame wall before:
after frames were added
Here is the inspiration for the next phase of the frame wall…
Here is what I did…
supplies needed:
book pages
hot glue gun
mod podge
Step 1:
get out your supplies…
Step 2:
fold paper in half and draw along the fold, half of a butterfly
Remember: this butterfly will be your largest one
Step 3:
Cut out your butterfly
You can be a rebel like me and decide to change the shape while cutting!
Step 4:
Bend the wings of your butterfly along the body length.
note: pencil is pointing to fold line.
Step 5:
Fold another page in half and insert into the page you just cut the previous butterfly from:
Step 6:
using your pencil trace the outline of the cut out butterfly onto your new paper.
Step 7:
using your traced line as a guide cut about 1/8 of an inch from the line. (so that your butterfly will be smaller than the first.
Step 8:
Repeat steps 5-7 to make your last butterfly. (also make sure to repeat step 4 on all butterflies)
Optional- Step 9:
Because my butterfly wings were a bit flimsy
I painted on a thin layer of mod podge.
Once dry continue to step 10.
Step 10:
Using your hot glue gun, make a thin line on top of the largest butterflies body.
Step 11:
place the second butterfly body on the glued area.
repeat step 11 with last butterfly
Step 12:
Decide where on the frame you want your butter fly and add a line of  hot glue
Step 13:
attach your butterfly!
rehang your frame and you are finished
or at least you think you are finished…
I thought the wall needed one more butterfly.
this time I made a smaller one
and did not need to use mod podge
attach second butterfly to frame…
and you are finally finished….
Hopefully next week I will get my Vinyl words added!
and then this little wall will be complete..
