I thought I would share my love for the felt flower with today. I have an obsession with creating felt flowers. Like I use them on everything.
Here is a simple tutorial to start off your flower making craziness, you are welcome.
Cut the width of your felt 2x wider than what you want your flower
Cut a strip of felt approximately 20 inches long, I usually cut mine 2.5 x 20 inches
Fold the piece of felt in half lengthwise and glue the long edge closed
Cut slits into the folded part of the felt
This is where you can get creative…cut slits on an angle, wide slits, very skinny slits- it will give you a variety of blooms
place a line of glue under your slits and begin rolling your flower, adding more glue as you go along.
cut a circle out of felt and glue it to the back of your flower
after the glue is dried fluff your flower and you are done
attach an alligator clip, hair pin, secure the flower to a headband, add a pin back
Here are what the flowers can look like if you make your slits different…
