This year I thought I would step up my game and do a little more than just mums and pumpkins for my fall porch decor.
Honestly there is NOTHING wrong with simplicity and I often learn this lesson the hard way.
I love all things fall related. I love pumpkins, color changing leaves, hay, wheat, boots, sweaters, scarves, cider, and of course lots and lots of baked goods.
Decorating for fall is right there behind decorating for Christmas.
Before I headed out shopping I did two things:
~ created a budget
~ planned what I wanted to buy
I settled on a general idea of what I was going for:
~ different heights
~ a mum or two
My porch is not very big (74 x 49) and I did not want to make the landing feel cluttered or cramped.
No one likes a crowded front porch.
What I bought:
~ metal bucket ($12 flea market)
~ large mum ($15 flea market)
~ pumpkins ($2ea road side stand)
~ crate ($5 flea market)
~ mini metal milk can ($3 target dollar spot)
~ Kale ($4 flea market)
Total spent $46.00
My son graciously offered to help me with the “re-decorating”.
I originally did it myself but knew it did not look quite right.
He had great suggestions.
The next picture is after his help.
I’m still not 100% sold on it and am very open to suggestions.
I would like to get a new rug but am lost after that!
This next photo gives a better idea of the two options I created for my front porch.
The bottom photo is what it currently looks like.
and again: (the right picture is the current set up)
What are your thoughts?
Have you shared a picture of your porch? I’d love to see it.
Leave a link to where I can find it in the comments!
