{ Everyday shopper } … Style stitches sew-a-long

I am still in love with my Cosmo Bag, but also could not wait to start working on my next bag for Amy Butler Style Stitches Sew-A-Long.
This Month we are making the Reversible Everyday shopper.
One part of the challenge for me doing this sew-a-long is using fabric I already have. You know exactly what I am talking about. The multiple stacks of fabric you had to buy even though you already have a few full bins

Yeah, that fabric.
I am using Hobby Lobby Fabric again. Although, the pocket fabric is dupioni  silk. This material is from a flower girl dress Hailey wore in a friends wedding! It matched my fabric choices perfect and I love the texture. Since I am not using Décor weight fabric as the book suggested, I added a very stiff interfacing to the main exterior fabrics.
I started on this bag Feb 1st! Unlike the Cosmo bag it only took me 1 ½ hours to cut and interface all the pieces for this bag. I even made an extra pocket for the front because I wanted to not because I messed up!
I am happy to announce that I finished this bag the very next day. It only took me about 1 ½ hours to do all the sewing. I even hand stitched the front of one of the pockets to divide into smaller parts.

Mister B is such a great model!
This bag was such and easy sew. I actually made two of these before Valentines Day’s!  I did not need to follow the instructions the second time around because it was such a simple pattern.
For the second bag I chose home decor fabric and used a light interfacing for the exterior.( okay yes I did buy fabric for this bag, but I had 50% off coupons from Joann’s.)  I also used a snuggle flannel for the inside and used linen scraps I already had for the pockets.
I changed a few things this time around. I added a side pocket like the Cosmo bag and shortened it to make it a perfect fit for a cell phone!
I also added 5 pockets to the inside. all different sizes making it easier to find things!
I am in love with this bag, i love the colors and Oh I almost forgot. I appliqued a camel on the front pocket too! cute little touch.
both my bags were featured here.
Let’s have a Tuesday Linky Party and celebrate anything you created!
