When I first saw the trend of Woven Wall Hangings, I fell in love at first sight. I could help but daydream about the textile possibilities.
But daydreams and woven textile Pinterest boards were as far as my relationship went until…
Until I saw the 3.00 gem at a local thrift store.
And this bundle of yarn a YMCA white elephant sale.
a few Joann coupons later and my dreams were about to come true
I whipped up my first woven wall hanging in about 4 days. Yup you read that right, 4 days. This relationship takes time to nurture and grow into something beautiful. And beautiful she is.
Friends Meet Emma, yes I named her.
Emma soon bad a baby, Sara. She was here in about 2 days. Along with her cousin Chai.
Chai got her name after she was dip dyed in a bath of black chai tea.
I started a Wall hanging collection rather sudden and I am not sure my husband knew what hit him. These friends were popping up all over our house. I have decided to keep them to two rooms for the time being. My bedroom and the living room.
This is Joy (in the middle), Emma’s younger sister.
and just recently I whipped up two new textiles.
I’ll have a step by step tutorial for you soon. For now I’ll leave you with a picture of my little weave-yarn-woven-textile-wall-art-hangings.
