Daily Prayers For Lent…week 2

This week was a little harder than I thought it would be. I found myself temped to check facebook notifications, and I found myself using my blog facebook more than normal..
hhmmm. Need to find a balance there.

As for shopping I did pretty well. i had one day when my daughter told me I did not need to buy something.
At first I told her it was not appropriate to talk to her mom like that
and then she explained herself.
” Mom, you gave up shopping for lent”
On snap. I almost bought a shirt. She was right, I apologized and thanked her for helping me.

I did pray a lot this week. It makes me feel happier when I am closer to God.

Again I encourage you to join me. Join me in prayer, fasting, and giving. However that may look in your life.
read daily
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in
darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
Here is our prayer schedule for March 13-19
Sunday March 13: Rest and receive from God
Monday March 14: World/Nation Please pray that our missionaries will continue to be a Light to the world.
Tuesday March 15:  3 people Please continue to pray for your 3 who do not know Christ, that they would see the Light in your life
Wednesday March 16: Calvary Body (or your church body) Please pray that we would bea Light to our city, neighborhoods, schools, businesses, etc…
Thursday March 17: Family Pray for your family to continue to grow in Jesus, that his Light would shine to those around you.
Friday March 18: City Pray for local churches in our area and the communities that they reach.
Saturday March 19: Yourself Take time to examine your heart, asking how Jesus is the Light of the World for you today. Are there areas in your life where you are not allowing Jesus to shine? Confess those areas and thank Him for guiding and shining as the Light of the World.
Please leave comments about how the Lord has worked in your life this week.
How have you changed or grown?
How is lent going for you?
This weeks verse means a lot to me.
I was asked to share a part of my testimony with the entire church.
The verse that we were were studying that week was John 8:12
You can read part of my testimony here and here

  1. i gave up facebook about 3 years ago. for good. until i started a blog, and now ive made a page for my blog- but you have to set up a personal page to do it. i created an entirely new page but didn’t tell anyone i did it.. so im hoping to not fall into the temptation. thats why i made it with my fiancee’s last name so no one would find me… we shall see how it goes!

and btw, i really love your blog! today i did a refashion that i think you’d like, a lace-cut out t-shirt that is no-sew! and easy to do with very little time.

  2. I did okay with giving up dt. coke. My daughter has held me accountable asking me every so often. We’ll see. I’ve done alot more reading this week. And with the lent, my miss 5 has asked what it is and even wanted to give up something. So a very neat experience for us to share.
