closetmaid makeover

here is the dreaded embarrassing before picture of my closet.
please ignore the weird selfie in this photo. I really have no explanation for it!

closetmaid makeover before

remember this closet must serve as my craft supply closet and our bedroom closet!

first thing up was to empty the closet

empty closet

next up.. demolition.
and yes i accidentally added a few holes with my hammer.

black closet

we chose a bright white as the paint color for the closet.
I did not want it to be busy.

painted white closet

the progression so far..

we were blessed to receive the ClosetMaid® 5 ft. – 8 ft. Closet Organizer with Shoe Rack
let’s be real for a minute here
Hubby and I DO NOT do home projects together
it is just not good for our marriage!

we did complete this closet makeover together
and DID NOT fight once!

I think that had a lot to do with the instructions being easy to follow.

closetmaid closet

from top left to right
1. draw lines on wall where shelves will be placed. draw x’s equally spaced for drill; holes/wall anchors
2. allow husband to use his “man power” and install the wall anchors!
3. hook shelves into wall hooks
4. add support bars, clip it together and DONE

and then the fun part. putting all my stuff back in the closet!

closet makeover

everything has it place now. I love being able to have separate spots for His and Hers clothes!

here is a side by side of the before and after

closet makeover

I am in love with our new closet,
the ease of putting it together and the fact that its REALLY affordable makes it a huge plus!

  12. It looks great! And hurrah for no fighting, haha. That’s always nice. I think the best way for home projects to happen in our home is for us to do them separately. Can’t annoy someone who’s not around, right? 😀
