Christmas wreath

somethings missing

I had so much fun and spent a lot of time getting my #fabulouslyfestive living room just right. I wanted it to be inviting, yet simple, festive, but over the top. Yet, i knew it was missing something. A Christmas wreath!
While over at Lindsey’s blog this week she made a comment that really struck home.
Lindsey Cheney QuoteLindsey created the most fab Luxe Lodge decor ever, and she was true to her word by having the most inviting wreath ever!

at the time of her post i had a green, silver white, red, black and gray wreath hanging on my front door. Cute yes, a taste of what to expect inside, nope. so i knew i had to rethink this wreath idea! Back to the drawing board i went.  and then it hit me. I loved the look of Lindsey’s wreath, with the greenery behind it, and i happened to have some i recently bought from Goodwill.

and perfect-o, the right amount of  taste of what to expect inside.  I used the leftover red chevron fabric scraps to wrap around the straw wreath.

I used the berry picks and sparkly silver chevron ribbon to help tie in what was waiting behind the door. I also like the idea of a branch but did not have any. I used a a pick that was covered in clear beads as my “stick”

I so appreciate Lindsey’s amazing creative ideas that can inspire my ideas!
