Brown Paper Bag Wreath

DIY Brown Paper bag wreath using only two items, paper bags and staples! tutorial included #easyDIY #fallwreath #wreath

Happy first day of fall friends.
To kick off the new season I want to share with you my new brown paper bag wreath.
It’s been the perfect start to my fall decorating.

We have rearranged our living rooms so my last years fall decorations do not really work.
Don’t worry, I will find new homes for them.

paper bag wreath DIY

I can not take full credit for this DIY. I was inspired by a new Instagram friend, Angeline from Dots and Dust.
Go ahead and follow her instagram, I’ll wait for you to come back.

I don’t have a “full” tutorial for you today, but I felt the project was simple enough it did not really need one.

paper bag wreath supplies

The supplies I used were: scissors, brown paper lunch bags, a stapler/staples, straw wreath (thrifted)

~I cut the paper bags into about 1.5 inch strips.
~First wrap your entire wreath in paper strips, stapling them to the back of the wreath. This will prevent you from seeing the actual wreath form peeking through your twisted strips.
~I then twisted each strip, next I wrapped each one around my wreath stapling the ends to the back.
(the picture above shoes the back of the wreath where the staples are)
And that’s it, easy peazy, lemon squeezy.

DIY bag wreath

I attached a ribbon on my wreath to hang it on my front door.
My husbands only request was no felt flowers.
Apparently my obsession has turned him off to the beauties that they are.

Brown bag wreath

I actually like this wreath as is, simple. The twist details give it the right amount of “umph”!
