2016 goals, word, resolutions

goals one word resolutions

It’s new years eve. Only a few hours left until 2016 begins.
It’s time to really sit down and think about what I would like this new year to look like. I want to take time and document my goals, resolutions, and my one little word to focus on.

As I sit here to write this post my mind is swirling with thoughts. I just got home from a funeral for a beloved man. He was my first Pastor. The first person who preached in a way that made me feel welcomed, included, understood, valued, and enough. Pastor Ed Dobson was such an amazing man of God. Sitting in his funeral today reminded me of what made Ed such a memorable person, His love for God. His love and respect for the scriptures. Yes at times he doubted. But God, in his grace showed Ed that he is real, alive, and would never leave him. Even as Ed struggled with ALS he knew he was never really alone.

I want my 2016 to be the year I truly live like Christ. The year I take me faith to a new level. The year that Jesus becomes my best friend. The year that I fully surrendered every part of me.

ONE WORD

My word for 2016 is:
Consistent: I want to Consistently trust Jesus with ever fiber of my being. I want to consistently be in the word, consistently sharing my faith with others, consistently loving as God loves. Consistently be present with y family and friends, consistently seeking to know about God’s character, consistently be listening for God’s voice.

goal : an aim or desired result.

My goals for 2016:
1. finish my read the bible in 1 year plan (I am on year 3 of this plan-whoops)
2. find a consistent blog schedule and better define my “niche”
3. simplify my closet – create a no fuss wardrobe again
4. plan a girls weekend

resolution a firm decision to do or not to do something.

My resolutions for 2016:
1. exercise – never thought you would hear me say that did you
2. make better eating choices aka eat less junk
3. dig deeper into my friendships
4. pray more for the lost

  1. You summed up my own 2016 goals better than I could myself! I love the “consistency” idea and feel like that’s really what I want too. Every year I start out with a list of goals and resolutions but to be honest I never really get any where and that’s probably because God has never been the central focus.

I really want to read my bible cover to cover this year too and just connect with God in a way I never have before.

I’m sorry for your loss but grateful that he was a man of God. Praying for you, and that you achieve your goals

(Also gosh yes with the exercise and healthy eating – I need a good dose of that!)
